Fiddle Clubs & Junior Symphony

Middle School and High School students who have some experience playing the violin, viola, cello or bass can join the Grande Ronde Junior Symphony (GRJS).  The GRJS provides an opportunity for students to develop a repertoire of music they can perform in various settings throughout the community.  Instruction will focus on sight reading skills and instrumental techniques and learning music with others. 

The Grande Ronde Junior Symphony currently meets in the La Grande Middle School Band Room on Thursday mornings from 6:45am to 7:30am.

The GRSA fully funds the position of the Music Director.

Children’s Concert

Children’s Concert Content – Outreach to the School Districts in Union County and beyond

The Children’s Concert is an event for 4th grade students from School Districts in the counties of Union, Baker, and Wallowa.  School districts are invited to attend and travel to the concert which is held in November of each year.  Coordination between the GRSA and these school districts are critical to assure that every 4th grader has the opportunity to experience the music of the Symphony and learn more about the music.

If you are part of a school district in these three counties, please feel free to reach out to our organization.  If you home school children who are in the 4th grade range, please get in contact with us so that we can reserve space for those children.
